That's a weak argument, considering that Chinchilla already has movers that are technically out of scope for a minimap addon >.>
Only one. And that's because there are no other addons that have movers for it. There are *plenty* of buff addons, and it's out of scope for Chinchilla to "assume" the user is using Blizz default buffs and needs a minimap addon to move them.
On all toons except my main (of course) the minimap retains the alpha that i have set it too both in and out of combat. On my main, with no other map-altering addons, my minimap ignores the alpha setting and is 100% visible at all times.
The minimap will ignore your alpha setting while indoors due to Blizzard limitations.
PS...anyway to do something about those minimap buttons...or is it a feature i overlooked?
You can show/hide Blizz minimap buttons with the aptly named Show/Hide module, and move them with the Move Buttons module. Addon minimap buttons have to be configured within their own addons, since they all use different methods to add their buttons to the minimap, and Chinchilla can't possibly include code to handle every single one. It is designed to work nicely with FuBarPlugin buttons, however, so if you use mostly Ace stuff you'll find that most of your Chinchilla options (like button border opacity) will apply correctly to them. They should also be left-click draggable for moving, and detach from the minimap if you hold alt.
now when i tried it i did disable everything except fubar and chin and it didnt work but then i enabled all addons disabled fubar and enabled chin and it was beautiful. so i determined it had to be conflicting with fubar.
thanks again and have fun man i love this addon!!
That's because your FuBar has outdated libs. Update FuBar and your options will work fine again.
Unless I'm just not seeing something I think I'm experiencing some sort of bug. I barely have any other addons installed atm (bartender3,pitbull,eepanels).
I can't move the minimap or remove the location bar/text. I've double checked making sure the window is unlocked and I can hide everything else on the minimap other than the text. Can't say what's happening really.
Make sure you don't have any other minimap addons running.
can i change the border of the buttons? (zoom map, mail, tracking)
an i need the clock too ^^
nice addon thx
If the border alpha setting doesn't work on the button, it can't be set. This is due to the way Blizzard incorporated the borders into the buttons themselves on things like the zoom controls, and can't really be changed without replacing the buttons completely.
P.S.--I hope my own excitement for new features hasn't nudged Chinchilla too far past its original vision. I'll try and be less pushy with my suggestions in the future.
I can't speak for ckknight, but I can say this: if he felt they did not belong, he would not have added them. Personally, I have loved your suggestions and contributions immensely (particularly the great artwork you've provided), and I get the impression he feels the same way. Keep 'em coming, it never hurts to ask!
Ok, I'm not sure if this was metioned before, but how can I get all the minimap buttons to follow the shape of the minimap? Only some buttons will track correctly.
Go to your Chinchilla settings, under the Move Buttons module, and make sure "Attach to minimap" is checked for all of them. Also, make sure not to hit the alt key while dragging them around (this temporarily detaches them, for ease of setup). If you still have problems with a specific addon's button not following the correct shape, it's likely the addon's fault.
Installed today - it's really nice I have to say! Only problem is DetachedMinimapButtons completely freaks out in the BugSack. Would the be any way to include the functionality of DetachedMinimapButtons in Chinchilla? Would be an awesome addition! :)
Cheers mate! Very nice!
Chinchilla does this for default UI buttons, and any addon buttons which use FuBarPlugin already have this functionality. Hold alt when dragging them to detach from the minimap.
I know there's not a SharedMedia type specifically for minimap border or mask textures; I was shot down last week when I asked about the usefulness of adding one. However, if there were such a type, or even some sort of agreed upon naming convention, would you consider querying LSM for them?
Personally, I think that is an ideal solution. If nobody wants to add an "official" LSM media type, Chinchilla skin packs similar to cyCircled skins would be a good way to go, too (whether or not these go through LSM could be decided later).
