No i was refering to the in-game stats by FuBar_PerformanceFu listing the top 20 and summing up the Memory usage of Cartographer + Cartographer_*.
I also disabled Embedded libs because i used to wait 1 minute upon login.
Right, PerformanceFu can't show you the differences between Cartographer with embedded libraries and Cartographer with standalone libraries, other than memory used.
The only thing it will show is Cartographer using a lot more memory when its libraries are embedded. As well, if you have any other addon using the same libraries Cartographer does (which is likely) and also have embedded libraries with them, the amount of memory it shows its using is increasingly meaningless.
When you say you "disabled embedded libs", do you have full standalone folders with all the Rock & Ace libraries you need? And you also manually deleted the \libs subfolder inside Cartographer? If not, the libraries are still embedded.
Again, unless all the libraries are standalone (in their own folders) and are _not_ located inside the AddOns\Cartographer\libs folder (embedded), the memory usage you see for Cartographer in PerformanceFu is meaningless.
Thank you - will give it a try. At the moment all cartographer modules 'seem' to use ~ 35 MB in my Addon memory.
Embedded libraries (libraries in the same folder as the addon, as the majority of people use) will boost "memory used" statistics. Which means the statistic is meaningless if you have any other addon that uses Ace2, Rock or other libraries Cartographer uses.
Just made the switch from Cartographer_QuestObjectives to Mobmap and must admit its nice to have an addon that doesn't spit errors at you all the time and is kept up to date.
Also like the way MobMap handles its data, its broken up and only accesses what it needs so its far more memory efficient, its not at the top of performancefu like QuestObjectives always was.
I recommend people try it until this one gets a rewrite.
I use MobMap on characters doing quests at the time...and that's it. Don't have it loading during heroic dungeons or raids. If you want to bring even the newest PC to its knees, enable its "...MobMap Overlay..." option for world map mob locations ;).
But yes, it doing LOD for specific databases as AtlasLoot, BigWigs, etc. do to improve memory usage is nice.
MobMap is not really a satisfactory replacement for QuestObjectives because it doesn't create map notes in Cartographer. Ah well.
Cartographer_QuestObjectives is the only addon I'm running using Quixote (verified doing a full text search of my Addons folder ;)). Also posted this in the libraries section, as the error that comes up only references Quixote.
A single error that reoccurs an average of 200+ times per session when in a party or raid (not solo):
Quixote-1.0-47871 (Quixote):621: table index is nil.
Has been doing this since the day WoW 2.2.3 went live. Last occurrence of this error was Oct 14/07 (again since other post) with Quixote r49795, Cartographer_QuestObjectives r50676 & Cartographer (Rock) r51988. All Ace2 & Rock libraries (& Quixote) are standalone & fully updated here.
Disabled quest objective note sharing in Cartographer soon after the problem started; no change.
