Please post the following information:
- Wow client version: enUS, enGB, deDE etc.
- Operating System: Windows, OS X or Linux
- Quartz version
- Embedded or external libraries
Please disable all addons other than Quartz, backup and rename your Quartz SV file, then outline to me the steps to reproduce the error, including any configuration changes you need to make. I will fix it if I am able to reproduce it.
Quartz isn't a frame modification addon, and the world state frame isn't related to spellcasting. (Nor is it attached to the minimap.) The world state frame is used for more than just PvP objective capture timers, as well. Here's something I'd thrown together recently for a friend to move the world state frame; drag the small gray square around, type /wsflock to toggle lock. Best done in Terokkar or Nagrand where there are objectives to see. :P
@ Dragon: I have the same problem, also using Capping but I don't think Quartz has (or should have) anything to do with it.
And I have a request, I always thought it would be cool to see instant casts (on global cooldown) in your cast bar. While Pitbull castbars lacks a lot of things, it is capable of displaying instant casts.
Currently I'm using those 2 bars on top of eachother, but its not really ideal:
I'd like to see an option for instant cast display included in a new quartz version. And if you consider it possible and worth it, including the appropriate spellicon (something Pitbull doesn't have for its instants) would make this addon even more outstanding anjd awesome!
Now that is a good idea. Adding it to my long list of things to do...
So it's definitely related to AddonLoader. If there are any other things you want me to test, let me know.
Sorry Phanx... I am completely and utterly unable to replicate this problem. It could be to do with the order of Addons on the disk. I'm running on a Mac using JWoWUpdater, which will most likely give different order to your system. Someone with a similar setup to you will have to attempt to replicate this.
One final test that you can try: in Quartz_Buff.toc, add Quartz_Player to the dependencies i.e. change line 7 to:
## Dependencies: Quartz_Player
This might indicate a possible problem in the Quartz module loading/dependency logic.
Phanx: I'm completely unable to replicate this issue. I'd like you to replicate this issue yourself with just Quartz running, or just Quartz and AddonLoader. Then provide the following so that I can replicate and fix:
External or embedded libraries
Quartz split into multiple folders e.g. Quartz_Buff in Interface/Addons
Operating system e.g. windows, os x
Language of your computer and wow e.g. frFR, zhTW
Where your character is logged out i.e. is the character resting when they first log in
Where you are when the error occurs i.e. resting or not
Exactly what you target to cause this error i.e. ally, NPC, red mob, yellow mob
I've been having a problem with the Blizzard cast bar being enabled even though it is checked as disabled in the menu. This happens everytime I login to WoW and to fix it I have to uncheck the option and then recheck it. Please help!
If you're running perl, you must enable blizzard casting bar hiding in its options.
This was discussed in detail earlier in the thread.
Regarding the "casting bar reappearing when using Quartz and Perl classic" issue:
Out of the box i.e. no previous saved variables, both Quartz and Perl hide the blizzard casting bar.
I could only reproduce the issue by unchecking "hide blizzard casting bar" in the Perl options. On reloading the UI, the blizzard casting bar appeared.
It's just an issue of addon loading order - whichever of Quartz_Player and Perl_ArcaneBar gets loaded last determines whether the blizzard casting bar gets shown or hidden.
The reason this has changed is that I moved the blizzard casting bar hiding from Quartz to Quartz_Player, which is the more logical place for it.
I can't really see this problem as anything that I can "fix" in Quartz - you have two addons with conflicting actions - one is trying to hide it, one is trying to show it. Simply set Perl to hide (which is the default setting anyway) and you'll be fine.
This is weird though because I never had the casting bar disabled in Perl before, I always used Quartz setting. So it sounds like when the "Hide Blizzard Casting Bar" was moved to the player options, however it read in, if it was disabled has changed since a version from about a month ago. If I had to take a guess I'd say the hideblizz was a variable before, now its a predefined line of code? and the Perl setting is now overriding it whereas it didn't before since Quartz 'loaded' after Perl.
Just rolled back to the Quartz-r52797.1.zip version, only has one Quartz folder in the addons. Works by only disabling the blizzard casting bar in the general options, no need to modify the Perl setting. So something has definitely changed with the Hide Blizzard Casting bar setting from the 52797 version and the current 62174 version.
Well spotted. I'll play with those two now to see what the hell is going on.
