I spent a good chunk of time tracking this down last night, here's what I have:
* Memory is rapidly consumed until it is garbage collected. This effect is much more pronounced in Dalaran than anywhere else including other cities like Ironforge. Being outside of a city, the effect is much less pronounced. The observations I make below are from sitting in Dalaran. Also, the memory usage is attributed to Autobar whether I have libs embedded or standalone. I also cleared all addons beforehand so all installations were new.
1) Having only Autobar and a memory tracking mod (Broker_CPU/Broker2Fubar/Fubar), I found Autobar sitting at a minimum of 4-5MB. The memory usage attributed to Autobar will climb to 10-11 MB within one minute and then drop back down to 4-5 again after the GC (I'll call the increase and drop over time a cycle). Using Fubar_PerformanceFu/Fubar instead reports the same thing.
2) Adding QuestHelper (so it's only QH/Autobar/mem tracking mod) really increases the amount of memory gained and lost in the cycle. Basically all memory usage in the cycle is still attributed to Autobar whether running with embbeded or seperate libs. Instead of jumping from 4-5MB up to 10-11MB it jumps to 25-30MBs. This seems to match some of the other reports I've seen in this thread.
3) When running Quest Helper alone, I see no memory issues at all, not even the smaller 5-6MB increase and drop every minute as described in (1) above. Basically, I see no cycle at all.
If anyone has any ideas how to further track this down please let me know.
Same here, just sitting in IF im getting an increase rate of ~1MB/10sec starting slightly slower and picking up some more speed towards the end of the GC cycle.
What does lately mean? As in, can you go back to a version that does not? I assume you have disabled all other mods when you get these results.
I run fully disembeded so no libs are present in the autobar folder and with that it shouldn't be possible for AB to get blamed for other addons usage, or have i misunderstood something here?
And if its other libs being used then the one getting the blame should be Altoholic (thats not fully disembeded) being above AB in the list.
I haven't really been testing old versions, i just noticed a while back that the amount of "garbage" memory on AB was running wild since my UI was suddenly rushing out of hand with 120+MB even with recount of.
For some reason autobar has started racking up huge amounts of garbage memory lately.
I run disembeded (even ripped out LDB-1.1 while testing)
Im getting huge memory climbs in very short time (5-10MB in a matter of minutes)
Seems to be especially bad when im swapping gears (using outfitter).
Initial memory sits at 2.7MB and in just a few min (2-3) its shooting well over 10MB, it goes away properly on gabagedump, but between automaric dumps it started to race a bit out of hand.
Azethoth just said, specificly in this thread that WM are not allowed to update Autobar and asked ppl not to use it. Thus you should respect him and not update Autobarthrough WM, but instead use for instance wowace files.
I have a question, and I apologize if it's been answered already. But how do I add specific mounts to any of my buttons? With the ability to now have far too many mounts, I wan't to create a Mounts button that only has the ones I prefer using. However I seem to get nothing happening whenever I try and drop a Mount (from my Pets / Mounts tab on my character window) on to the bar. Is there something I need to do differently?
I would recommend getting the "Livestock" addon from wowinterface.com for that, lets you decide what mounts its allowed to summon and can create 3 different macros. One for random land, one for random flying and one for random "smart" (picks flying/ground depending on zone).
Also has a simmilar function to summon a random pet from a predefined selection of your awailable pets.
Atleast until Azethoth has had time to get it working (or blizz fix it).
fadeout and rearange on use still doesnt work alteast for me
is there any one that knows how to delete some from a button?
like kinda annyoing when you collect mounts and start to have a long list of them, so just wondered if there is anyway to delete or change mount button to just show like the primary flying and riding mount you use ?
For now i would recomend tirning of the mount button and use a macro to auto select a mut instead (like menrioned, many addons now offers simple macros to cast a random mount based on flying/no-flying conditions)
