Probably a stupid feature request, but here I go: I use oGlow to add a quality border to items. This works just about everywhere, except for baggins, since it has its own glow-module. If I switch that off, I get no glow instead of oGlow. :( I know, this is not really an issue, I'd just like to have all items glow the same way. :)
Well, you can edit the default profile, make it as generic and still as useful for yourself as possible. Then just use individual profiles on all your toons that you suspect may need handmade changes, and copy your default profile over the individual one. After that, all these toons have an individual profile that starts as the same on all the others have, but you can edit their profile whenever you want without effecting the other's profiles.
You can also just combine all the bags into one. Basically just make a new bag and copy all the sections of the other bags into it. If it looks good, delete the other bags, or just set them to not show automatically. Good chance to make your own categories and sections, too. A single section for each of your tradeskills for example, divide the armor pieces you can use from those you can't use and such. If you like the work. If you are lazy, or afraid of baggins' config menu, then it's probably best to use another bag-addon or go back to onebag. :)
Edit: If you do the above, and edit your categories as well, make sure you do not create two categories that get all the stuff that fits in no category. Dunno if that still is a problem, but I vaguely remember that it was in the past, and that it gave quite a headache. :)
I updated directly before posting. Found the error, closed wow, updated, tried again, posted. Will check again now.
Edit: WUU does not show me any updates for Baggins. Installing latest version 50131 by hand. Error is still there. Taking an item out of the bank doesnt produce any error. Taking it from the inv and putting it into bank gives teo errors, both the same.
[2007/09/29 03:44:55-433-x2]: Baggins-Beta 1\Baggins.lua:1560: attempt to index global 'self' (a nil value)
Baggins-Beta 1\Baggins.lua:1547: in function <Interface\AddOns\Baggins\Baggins.lua:1533>
Same as Ellipsis, but I always get them in pairs. When I pick up something in Inventory (Unidentified Plant Parts in this case) and drag it to the bank (with exactly one free space). Fist time the error pops is when I hover over the empty field I intend to drop it on, second time is when I actually drop it.
But you can place baggins - you just need to kick it a bit to place it where you want it. As was said before, if you place it on the minimap first, you can then move just about anywhere you want. And if you want it to display the numbers just like BagFu does - you can configure it for that as well.
Check the settings of baggins. Wasn't there a new one that makes baggins open whenever the bags are opened? And maybe I am missing something here, but what do you need BagFu for, when you have baggins?
It is really no problem to manage the "real" inventory - can always just press shift-B and/or unhide the bags if you hid them with your actionbar addon. Bank is the only thing where I find it a tad inconvenient - but then again, in the default setting, the "real" bank is always shown.
I think it is all in one file. Baggins.lua in the global SavedVariables directory. Just copy it one level higher before you are going to break anything. And / or use profiles. Make a harmless default profile. Switch over to a toon-specific profile and copy the default profile over it. Start to break things. If it goes bad, copy the default profile over the mess again. If it works fine, and you think you want the changes as default for all toons, copy the specific profile over the default. Can do a lot breaking this way without having to resort to backups of the Baggins.lua file. Would still back that up, tho, just in case. :)
What helped me most was alt-rightclicking items, and then checking what PT3 groups the item belongs to. To get all the stuff you want into one category, you often either need tons of rules excluding and including stuff - or just the right PT3 group. When I wanted to make separate sections for Material for Smelting, Material for Engineering, Recipes I can learn, Tools for my two tradeskills and Stuff that is the result from my two tradeskills (can often be in the base material section as well), I got it really messed up, rules-wise. Let's just say that there is more PT3 groups than I had imagine at first, and that their names are not exactly intuitive. :) But in the end, most categories ended up with just 1-2 rules each.
Still, that new rule for other categories should be one cool addition. Can you mess up anything there with circular references? Just asking before I manage to destroy my baggins-settings again? ^^*
i could have "copied" all the rules of the primal category to all others as "NOT" but that would have been a lot of boring work.
It would definately suck to copy that over to lots of categories... but in how many other categories can they show up? Surely not more than one, tops two? Otherwise you may want to have more clearly defined categories, and with more clearly defined, I do not mean lots of "NOT" statements.
Other bag-addons do not have this problem. I think this was not happening when I used OneBag or Baggins. Might be wrong - I did use outfitter as well for some time. Mebbe I switched to Baggins before I got rid of outfitter. Testing that wouldn't take more than a few minutes, tho. Baggins is that only bag-addon that I had to manually set to open when pressing "B". Might be related to that, I do not know the internals. :)
