I'm pretty clueless: I cannot reproduce that problem here (I created a new char and logged in with Squishy as only enabled addon, then /joined 5 custom channels), the error messages isn't related to Squishy, and I'm not using 'color' anywhere either. Can someone with this problem please try to replace the Squishy AceComm with different revisions and only have Squishy enabled to make sure not a different addon is interfering?
A guildmate reported yesterday that he couldn't change channel colors. After disabling Squishy, it worked. His setup was PRaid/ oRA2/ ChatMOD and nothing much else. i'll try to catch him and make me send a list of all his addons and PM them to you
Here's what he uses: BamMod, BanzaiAlert, BigWigs, Cryolysis (deactivated), Decursive, ImprovedErrorFrame, ItemRack, oRA2, PerfectRaid, ScrollingCombatText, SCT Options,Squishy, SW_Stats
Who needs a shield the most other than a MT/OT? the person hurt the most.
I have to disagree. Imagine the following: 2 tanks, both not in your group, one at 19% hp, one at 20% hp. Who will you shield?
Simple logics will shield the tank with 19% hp.
Now what if e.g.:
- the tank with 20%hp is aggrod by a mob, while the other isnt
- the tank with 20%hp has a Mortal Strike debuff
- the tank with 19%hp is out of combat and has ressed (SS'd, druid-res)
- the tank with 19%hp has an active rejuv and a renew buff, the other doesnt
- the tank with 19%hp is already in the process of being healed by someone else
See, this is why I believe the Squishy priority logic is superior. And the sorting logic makes it easier to keep track of whats happening (and to target a specific unit).
lol, sorry maia, i wrote my post before reading yours here.
The main problem is i think for a user to separate Visual display and Priority list, especially if you were used to CTRA where both are the same ;) and if both are the same, what's the point in still having a visual display?^^
It;s also not for just spamming flash heal. Who needs a shield the most other than a MT/OT? the person hurt the most. With a click casting addon, (clique, aceheal, etc), it's a two button affair, press a key to target the lowest, and then hold alt-rightclick (or whatever your particular key combination is for shield.)
You arguments are a bit flawed.
Why target then clickcast? when you target, den heal by Keybinding. The reeason i use Clique is to not have to target a unit before healing, so i can hold my MT as target at all times.
And when you say keybinding for "targeting", not healing, then squishy will not give you the first on its visual list but the first on priority list, so i still don't see why you want visual display of highhest priority if you don't use it via clickcasting anyway^^
P.S.: we're not flaming you in any way, you started the post with "i heal quicker quicker with CTRA because of the sorting" we're only trying to get your way of thinking and help you perhaps optimize your healing by telling you why Squishy has evolved that way and how we use it.
The hardest thing is moving from an addon to another, you were used to have most deficit at top, so you are quicker opposed to yourself using squishy, that's totally normal.
so becouse you dont like it sorting by hp lost no one else can get it ? stupid arguement tbh
nah, what maia really meant is that a lot of people here asked that Squishy works this way, because a lot think that CT_Emergency is hard to heal with because the list changes to often, when you got a lot of healing around and damage, you never know who you are indeed healing.
Squishy was made so that persons who appear in the list stay excatly at that position for a time. Believe me, it reduces Overhealing a lot and healing is more efficient. In encounters where healing is at it's limit and mana too, the emergency monitor from CT will do our Manapool a lot more damage than good since spamming heal on the first one too appear will cause overhealing and perhaps others to die.
Hi maia, just installed the ace2 version now (using the olld one until now, which worked very well :D )
Litle question, is it possible to configure the frame so it is always at max height? i mean with the old squishy i had a frame in which people would come up, now i have this header frame which builds up to the bottom if anyone needs healing. For place (and esthetic) reasons i would like to have the frame always at max height ^^
Hmm. Now if I'd only know how to merge the Ace2 version into /trunk - especially as my GUI svn program (I'm running OSX) can't merge, and even though I could use the command line, I don't really know how to do so yet. Does anyone happen to know?
