This addon craches some of my Ace addons e.g. skinner, too bad. Heart got a similar healing preview, i've asked the author for isolating this part of Heart but he is so frustrated about the changes in TBC for Healers that he stopped working on this :P. Sadly I don't know that much about coding that i could do this, and i hope moreover an ace2 addon will grow up out of these ashes.
Yesterday i had another idea, a clique plugin that displays the healing amount of the healspell that is bound on the mousebuttons on the mousecursor. (would look like this: Mouse*1280/1650/2150) When you hold down ctrl or alt it shows the healing amount of spells that are bound on ctrl+click etc. Just that i got this information right where i need it.
But as i learned on this site the game don't realise if you hold down alt or crtl untill you hit an adittionally key. Too Bad.
*** My Nostromo N52 configuration *** is now set up like this: http://s25.simpleupload.de/f0f719804/WoW advanced strg alt.rar.html (copy the whole link into the browser, damned i got to get a privat server)
It's absolte necessary to use the D-pad for moving when you want the best of your n52 relating to layers and the most amount of buttons.
Layer "normal":
Button 01: give it a number or a letter and bind it ingame to "next target" (it's your tab now)
Button 02-05,07-10,12-14: give it the numbers 1-0 and a letter (compensates the 11)
Button 06: alt (that is the main change - in the past it was red layer, and a lost "clique-layer")
Button 11: ctrl (that is the second main change - in the past green layer) you can use these layerbuttons with your little finger, maybe the practice was easy for me because i'm a guitar player ;) but i think this also needs only some habitation)
Button 15: blue layer ("short"-option)
Scrollwheel-push: jump (I'm not a jumping freak, but its fun to kill them. But even a Jumper can have fun with these setting, just needs a little habituation. Also it's necessary to have the jumpbutton pressable without your thumb, it's needed for moving)
Scroolwheel up/down: using my trinkets (i can also imagine to set the red/green layers here in the future (with the "switch" option, but that can be your fast dead in some sitiutions) but not until TBC, in which you can bind barless).
TheRedButton: i'm a shiftlooter and this is the best way to set it, because you never walk while looting, so your thumb is free for this. Also ahift is often used for several addons and stacksizing.
TheScrollButton: give it free letters or the num numbers, also in the Blue Layer
redbutton(shift)+scrollwheel up/down: switching through enemies
Layer "blue":
Button 01-05, 07-10, 12-14: give it numbers or letters that are not used in the normal layer, maybe the F-Keys. 06 and 11 are alt and ctrl again. Ingame you can bind Charakter, guild, bag, talents, map, Quests ... so everything i don't need in fight, cause when i activate the blue layer (with my thumb certainly) i can't move anymore (ok, i can automove with pressed mousewheel but thats not very intelligent while fighting)
Surely i could use my normal keyboard for open the menus. I tried this but it was very bothering. Man I'm so lazy, it's standing right infront of me :P
Ingame you can now bind just the buttons, scrollwheel, mousebuttons AND alt/ctrl +buttons, +scrollwheel, +mousebuttons AND blue layer +buttons, +scrollwheel AND (when that is even not enough for you :P) Blue Layer+ctrl/+alt +buttons +Scrollwheel. (hm, by the way you could also set new bindings with your red button (shift) +buttons +scrollwheel +mousebuttons oO)
At the end of the day we got A LOT of Keys to bind, all reachable without moving my hand, only my fingers.
But sadly this is no fine grid for my interface ... sure it is:
normal ctrl alt
[02][03][04][05] [02][03][04][05] [02][03][04][05]
[07][08][09][10] [07][08][09][10] [07][08][09][10]
[12][13][14][01*] [12][13][14][01*] [12][13][14]
will look like this, the [01*] is the button of the next layer but so it is a real grid.
a last Tip: Only give it numbers and letters. Don't use for example "shift+4" makros in the editor. Ingame the makro closes after every hit, so you can't "hold" anything, that causes Problems in some situations and for some mods. Just use F1-f12, numbers, numpad-numbers and single letters.
Thx Pastamancer for your last post, i thought about that and i decided to go back to the basics.
I redesigned my Nostromo-pad so that it allows me to use clique in a much more advanced way. This will be my solution for TBC and it will also solve the decursing-without-detox problem. (in addition with Grid)
But maybe someone develop some plugins for unit- and raidframes (like Grid, ag_unitframes, perfectraid etc.) that displays the Healing rank ADDITIONALLY to the missing hp text. In some stressing situations i would be thankful not having to remember what amount of hp my ranks are healing.
Yes, thx for the tip cubanx, I noticed it right after my last post, because I looked for discussions in the CliqueThread refering to TBC. I can assure you that I don't want cladhair to do very bad things and it is not the intention of this thread to find workarounds for the TBC changes.
I was just wondering about IDEAS for new (or upgraded) healing addons that will give me a clue which spellrank fits the missing hp.
I like your idea with Theorycraft Pastamancer, maybe an ace2 version of this addon would do it (think theorycraft is much to overloaded for the simple info i need, and the stripped version is still 1.6.3)
But I think there could be a much rounder solution in ONE Addon.
When dynamic updates aren't possible anymore with TBC, then just always display, let's say, 6 Healingtouch ranks in a special window (should look like grid ;) ). Now you got a friendly target with 1000 missing hps and the mod just alphas the rank 8 to 100% (its working like Grid somehow). Now you can click the button or use Clique for healing with the best rank > no overhealing (it's all undynamic yet). It is doing the same thing that Pasta perform with Theorycraft but enables a much faster function. (and you got a nice UI when it got the look of Grid).
Thats only an idea of it, i'm not a coder and don't know whats possible or not, but maybe some clever mod authors can do something out of it, so just add some more ideas here :)
I'm thinking more in the direction of an ace2 mod like clique, in which way will it be possible to save this mod for TBC for example, or how could detox look like and so on. Grid (i love it) is a first step that is made for TBC i think, so how will the Healing addons evolve with the changes in WoW 2.0?
I just started this threat because i'm curious about your ideas for Healing addons for TBC.
One of my Ideas is a Bar with all (or some) Healingspellranks, positioned in the near of the Unitframes. The Addon calculates now the missing HP of the most wounded (here you can imagine more options) and SUGGEST a Spellrank by setting the alpha to 100% and the rest of the ranks to 20%. This way you can work around the TBC castration. Would that be possible?

edit: The entry in the localization.de.lua is faulty, so that Healing Touch is not shown on the german client.
Change on line 36:
"Heilende Berührung" into "Heilende Ber\195\188hrung"
That's it, after that change Healing touch will be shown.
Hope there will be an ace2 version anytime.
