DogTag is an evil bloated monster. When I ran InfiniBar, it was the only thing using DogTag, and only for keybind text and action count text. With over 200 addons running, DogTag used almost as much CPU time as every other addon combined... and that's not counting the significant CPU usage of the Rock framework, which was also used only by InfiniBar. When 3.0 hit and I switched to Macaroon, ditching DogTag and Rock in the process, I gained about 10 FPS in raid combat situations, and significantly more while idling.
What did you use the DogTag display for? Depending on your answer to that, there may be a non-DogTag alternative already working that doesn't depend on any specific actionbar addon.
Well I am using Pitbull as well, so the DogTags are there anyways...
What I was using it for in IB2 was mostly displaying of on/off status and durations of buffs/debuffs directly on buttons with relevant abilities.
For example on my demo roar button (playing a feral druid) it would display not only the duration of my own demo roar, but the demo shout any warrior might have been put to the target (which overwrites my debuff and ensures me I dont need to reapply it) or any overwriting debuff basically...
Or on my enrage button (which next to its beneficial effects lowers my armor temporarily) I could have shown if I have ancestral fortitude buff on me (which randomly procs from shamans' heals and grants a temp armor buff) showing when it is optimal to use that ability
Another thing would be displaying mangle duration on the shred button (shred should allways be used with the mangle debuff up)
Even the numeral display of combo points on finishing move buttons I found useful... and that's only a few things.
So, what I'm looking for is a way to display duration of customly definable buffs/defuffs on self/target directly on (Macaroon's or with any good bar mod) action bar buttons, preferably with the ability of displaying more than one (de)buff (any of the given debuffs), and with different coloring possibilities.
