Any news on adding target information? I know it might not always be correct, but I think it's the job of the addon author who is using SpellStatus to properly deal with such spells (e.g. selfcast, aoe-cast,...). I'd really, really like to use SpellStatus in Squishy and Detox, and also I could finally write a decent mana conserve addon.
not fully accurate relating to self-cast only spells, ala LifeTap, Inner Fire etc. we'd have to develop a list of spell IDs that are self-cast only.
Aah, I see. Well, why not add the code to SpellStatus I suggested, plus some debug code that will check if the target data is really correct, and if it isn't, print a debug statement and/or save that data to the lua, so we (devs) can slowly fill that table... Until then, addons themself need to make sure the data is valid. I'd just like to see one library hooking the related functions instead of several addons.
It is possible, but not fully accurate. I was thinking of adding an addon that might do so, but not sure i want to integrate it to the core. Due to game mechanics you can have a different target than you can track.
Nightdew, would it be possible to also pass the target on the events? As you're hooking the three ways to cast a spell, you can track the target too. Then I could replace my hooks.lua in Squishy with SpellStatus.
