Thanks for the link - I checked out the version on svn using Tortoise. You say above that it works for simple items sold in singles? I tried adding an item to the DB using /fr add [itemlink] 5 but I just get errors like the ones below.
Core.lua:47: bad argument #1 to `pairs' (table expected, got nil)
Core.lua:25: attempt to index global `RefillsList' (a nil value)
I just tried to give the version you have on svn a whirl but I can't get it to do anything. I can't even get /fr to do anything. /ace list does list the addon as loaded though. On svn I saved each file (there are 3) to a folder called FreeRefills in my addons folder. Do I need to embed anything?
Sweet ! Sounds nice and simple, looking forward to seeing it :).
I fully understand it may take awhile as it is your first addon - especially one which spends someone's gold ;). Good luck and I hope it's fun creating it.
P.S. I just thought of something. What would happen if I had an addon like bagboy set to auto bank my super strong dwarven ale while at the same time FreeRefills was set to bring a full stack from my bank to my bags ? Yea I know it would be pretty stupid but it will happen at some point. Wouldn't want to get caught in an endless loop...
It would be awesome if Free Refills came to life :)
I was thinking of attempting something along these lines myself but WoW addons seem to have a very steep learning curve compared to other programming I've done (most recently Python and VB.Net). If there is a very simple addon framework I could work within I could probably handle the lua part. The addon tutorials I've found are extremely out of date and real addons seem pretty daunting. If someone could point me towards a good tutorial I'd certainly take a look.
There seem to be several mods that automatically move stuff in my bags to my bank, e.g. Sanity, BagBoy, Mr Plow and I think I even saw one called bank-o-matic. However, I haven't seen one do the reverse...
When I visit the bank one of the things I do is top up all my consumables such as potions, food, drink to the stack max. This is time consuming and dull and could easily be automated by either having a list of items to do it to or by just filling partial stacks.
Anyone know of an addon that does this or feels like writing one ? Hell even a super-macro would work for me :).
