Someone linked an achievement or quest or something in a private chat chan over the weekend and Prat properly converted it to a link, but then later someone linked an item and it didn't convert. Seems to be some bugs/missed corner cases/whatever in Prat.
Yeah I've noticed the collaboration between WIM and Prat. Unfortunately I keep getting fed up with WIM for one reason or another and disabling it.
Apparently Pazza is not working on WIM much at the moment either, and not for lack of things to do.
I now remember why I ditched WIM last time: it creates an invisible frame that covers the entire screen. Theoretically it should cause no problems, but I hate seeing it show up when I dump the frame stack via /spew mouse. Why does WIM need to create a whole-screen frame like that, I wonder?
No. Was just trying to show that I'm not one of those people that says "oh I have the latest version" when I really don't.
Unfortunately addon authors don't always keep their addons up to date on all sites on which they are hosted, as it requires extra work. I usually try to check both WowAce/Curse/CurseForge and WowInterface to see who has the latest version of something, unless I know that a particular addon usually gets updated on one site or the other first.
Would be nice if Prat could be more aggressive about stealing the chat edit box back from Cellular when I have Prat set to put it at a specific unlocked position on my screen. The author of Cellular blames Prat for the chat edit box getting stuck to Cellular and never returning to the position and size I have configured via Prat and refuses to fix it, so I've had to manually modify every version of Cellular that I've used to not touch the edit box position at all as a workaround (the Cellular author also refuses to add an option to not move the edit box, grrr).
I keep bouncing between Cellular and WIM because they're both annoying (and WIM is bloated) but I like what they do. I wish there was a good 3rd alternative :p
For some reason, when a guildie links items in a private chat chan, Prat's ChatLinks (or whatever it's called now) module doesn't seem to parse it into an item link. I'm pretty sure he's using Chatter as his chat addon, so it may be a compatibility issue between Prat and Chatter with respect to how they handle item links in private chat channels.
Since Prat's LDB plugin is a launcher, it probably shouldn't define a text field. Some strict LDB displays complain about launchers that define text fields because the text property is not defined in the LDB spec for the launcher type (since they are really only intended to be displayed as icons).
